Digital Marketing & Content Creation Intern

Travel Tractions is seeking an all-rounder Digital Marketing & Content Creation Intern to support our core marketing operations. In this role, you won't just be making coffee or filing digital paperwork—you will get hands-on experience across social media management, content production, basic SEO, website uploads, and market research.This position is ideal for a proactive self-starter who enjoys switching between creative design work, writing, and structured operational tasks.

Key responsibilities:

1. Social media and content creation

• Content production: Assist in creating visual assets, graphic designs in Canva, and short-form video edits (Reels/TikToks) using CapCut.
• Copywriting and scheduling: Write engaging, platform-native captions and schedule content across client and internal channels.
• Community management: Monitor post performance, respond to comments/DMs, and help foster online community engagement.

2. SEO and digital marketing support

• CMS and website uploads: Format, layout, and upload blog posts, landing pages, and media assets to client websites (WordPress/Webflow).
• Basic SEO optimization: Assist with basic keyword research, meta-tagging, internal linking, and content updates.
• Analytics and reporting:
• Help pull basic metrics and performance reports across social accounts and website traffic

3. Research and administrative support

• Campaign research: Conduct background research on competitor strategies, trending industry topics, and target audience behavior.
• Operations and SOPs: Keep internal Notion databases, media folders, and process templates organized.
• Ad-Hoc team support: Jump in to assist the senior team on various administrative and creative tasks as business needs evolve.

What we are looking for

• Education or portfolio: A degree/diploma in digital marketing, communications, creative media, or a strong self-taught portfolio demonstrating your skills.
• Basic tool stack familiarity: Experience using Canva, CapCut (or similar video editors), basic WordPress, and social media scheduling platforms.
• Smart tool usage: Familiarity with using AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Grammarly) to assist with brainstorming, drafting, and proofreading.
• Top-tier attention to detail: Excellent written English skills and strong organizational habits (please note: attention to detail will be tested).
• Own equipment: Your own laptop and fast wifi are non-negotiables.
• Location: Fully remote, but Cape Town candidates are strongly preferred for periodic in-person coffee catch-ups and team connects.
