Selling Savanha to SA

Winecorp's top selling export brand, Savanha, has been realigned in a drive to increase its local market share. Featuring a stylistic image of the sun, the new label represents the Savanha team's pursuit to express the sunny South African terroir in its wines.

Winecorp group winemaker Frans Smit says: "Our goal with Savanha is to capture the invigorating energy of the sun and its interplay with other climatic aspects, the soil and topography. The abundant South African sunshine is paramount to producing grapes with powerful colour and intensity of flavour, hence our philosophy to 'Embrace the Sun'".

The Savanha range is targeted at consumers who are seeking wines that can be enjoyed immediately but have ageing potential, says Smit. Supermarkets and on-trade facilities are the key distribution points.

Savanha's revised portfolio and label have been well received abroad, where the brand is consistently placed amongst South Africa's strongest selling brands. Winecorp is looking to extend Savanha's export base to other markets.

Vernon Davis, CEO of Winecorp says: "I believe that we have a wine brand that reflects our sunny South African lifestyle. Think of wide open spaces, blue skies and sunshine, together with the most friendly people anywhere and you'll understand the essence of Savanha wines."
