Nel started his career in the hospitality industry at a mining sports and recreation club, Western Deeps Recreation Club, Carltonville and moved through the ranks to recreation club manager at Elandsrand. From there he was appointed the lodge's assistant GM in the Waterberg, allowing him to qualify as a trails guide. He worked at Sun City for a short period in operations as a unit manager for the beverage outlets. Having a passion for the bush, he became assistant GM and later GM of the Entabeni Game Reserve, Limpopo.

Engelbreg brings 21 years of hospitality experience, having started her career in the hotel industry and later within timeshare. She has a National Diploma in Hotel Management and has a Health & Safety (HIRA) Certificate. In the past two decades she has gained extensive knowledge as a GM, which carries her in good stead to take on her new position at Mabula Game Lodge overseeing operations, guest relations, front office and human resources, from a timeshare perspective.

Wildlife expert

Erasmus has a Diploma and B-Tech in Nature Conservation as well as a M.Sc. in Botany. He has spent the past 15 years developing and managing private game farms throughout southern Africa, including those in the Namib Desert, Kalahari, Karoo and the Lowveld. His game farm-management skills have allowed him to develop expertise in wildlife translocation, finance and wildlife and vegetation monitoring, as well as working for the Endangered Wildlife Trust. His new position at Mabula Game Lodge will have him overseeing all operations for the private reserve.
