Stardust Galaxies, will be available on the W995 Walkman phone from mid-September to the end of October and will also include exclusive content, wallpapers, a never-seen-before music video, ring tones and themes accessible via a microsite that owners of the W995 will be able to access. Winners will also stand the chance to win both VIP tickets to, and a meet-and-greet opportunity at, the live shows in November 2009 that form part of the band's world tour.

International collaborations

“Sony Ericsson has established Walkman phones as credible digital music players and helped create a new genre of mobile phones. With our previous international music collaborations with Pink, Usher, and Lenny Kravitz, a local partnership was a natural strategic progression hence our partnership with The Parlotones, who have made such a significant imprint on the local and international stage. The Parlotones have so much in common with the Sony Ericsson brand; innovation, passion, our forward thinking approach, all of which showcase our commitment to engaging our audiences through entertainment,” said Sonja Shear, head of marketing for Sony Ericsson South Africa.

Funky brand

Raphael Domalik, MD of The Parlotones label, Sovereign Entertainment, said: “Sony Ericsson is such a funky brand that continues to raise the bar at making mobile phones more than just a phone - it's about entertainment experiences that go beyond features and with our partnership, this is exactly what we want to deliver to our fans.”

The partnership incorporates all areas of the marketing mix.
