The Gap gains Jameson Irish Whiskey, Olmeca Tequila, and Long Mountain Wines

Pernod Ricard, following their recent take-over of part of the Seagrams portfolio, today awarded the advertising and marketing accounts of Jameson Irish Whiskey, Olmeca Tequila, and Long Mountain Wines to The Gap.

On a current expansion trail, (with the recent win of Canal Walk), The Gap is excited to welcome the new brands. Says Peter Southworth and Allan McDonald, "The Gap has had a long relationship with Pernod Ricard SA and we are excited to join forces once again. As founding partners, we have extensive experience in liquor and look forward to working on the fastest growing whiskey in the world (Jameson). Olmeca is also an exiting one - there is currently a world-wide shortage of tequila, and SA is the third largest consumer of the product. In addition to spirits, we have also been awarded Long Mountain Wine Company and will be working on its export wines as well as the local Gecko label."

One of the key decision factors in the awarding of the accounts to The Gap was their seamless integration of media, strategy and creative in a focused business unit.

"We’re finding more and more that our clients do not see any return in farming out their business to various parties. We believe it is creativity, combined with long-term vision and adherence to the important role as brand custodians that position us to best serve our clients in a role that is more than just a supplier, but an integral part of the marketing function," concludes Peter and Allan.
