Marketing & Media South Africa

Print media dead? Not even close

Not too long ago, the death of print media was being espoused with great certainty by the medium's doomsayers - but they might have got it wrong... When it comes to print media dying, Ingrid Louw reckons it is far from dead and, in fact, it is still holding its own rather well, thank you very much.

What's that advice some people offered Julius Malema - come on, you remember him... he was in all the newspapers? Oh yes, "When you're in a hole, stop digging." Right now the same advice might well apply to our minister of communications, the ducking and diving Dina, whom, according to reports, now reckons even soccer legend Jomo Sono is trying to blackmail her.

On a much happier note, have a listen to [Biz Takeouts Podcast] 59 and hear about neuromarketing and Martin Lindstrom's The Progress Conference on branding and the digital marketing revolution.

And finally, Ayanda Dlamini has some ideas on how to use mobile to drive BI this year. He reckons mobile is top of the big four influencers of BI change across Africa this year.
