Residential units in Sandton Gate development to launch second quarter of 2018
The site provides 130,000m² of developable floor area made up of approximately 80,000m² of offices, 400 residential units and a variety of lifestyle and smaller retail amenities. The Green Building Council of South Africa (GBCSA) has also selected the precinct as a Pilot Project for one of the first green rated precincts in South Africa.
In the first phase, Craft Homes will be selling 140 modern, open plan two and three bedroom apartments, with four bedroom penthouses on the top floor.
Reinier van Loggerenberg, managing director of Craft Homes, says: “Sandton Gate is a perfect fit for residential buyers who are looking for state-of-the-art apartments with a prominent but convenient address that still offer good value for money. The precinct overlooks the Braamfontein Spruit, one of Johannesburg’s longest natural greenbelts and popular mountain biking route, while being on the doorstep of South Africa’s financial CBD. Amenities will include a health club, restaurants, and other smaller format convenience services which will contribute to the overall appeal of the precinct.”
Van Loggerenberg says that the apartments have been carefully planned and designed. “The apartment block has been split in two at the entrance to allow views straight through to the tree canopy of the Spruit. We’ve included open internal landscaped atriums which allow for natural ventilation to the kitchens and inner bedrooms. Another great element we’ve incorporated is the master bedroom and lounge area that open up to full outside balconies across entire apartment frontage. The residential development also features a terraced pool deck with shaded seating and braai areas that have ablution and change room facilities.”
Craft Homes is responsible for all aspects of the residential development, in partnership with the Abland/Tiber joint venture that is managing the greater precinct development.
