Coca-Cola and Monster Media embrace World Cup fever
Coca-Cola has quickly become a fan favourite at the FIFA fan parks surrounding the 2010 World Cup games in South Africa as they, in partnership with Matchworld, created the experience of a lifetime for fans and visitors to the Coca-Cola zones. The event was a huge success as thousands of fans gathered at each of the fan parks all around SA to watch shows, live games on the big screens, and enjoy the company of fellow South Africans in blowing their vuvuzelas, proud to be South African! Local or visiting, they joined in the celebrations of the Coca-Cola official fan parks and had the time of their lives. Read more... Watch video...
Ke Nako! It is time; and for Africa this was our time to shine, to showcase our beautiful country and its many diverse cultures to our international friends. The country anticipated this event for years and prepared well; the world responded and international visitors came in their hundreds and thousands!
Standing in line awaiting their opportunity to play on interactive motion-sensing systems, getting Polaroids taken with friends, kicking a goal, and doing a corner-flag celebration for their chance to show the world their moves and get some free Coca-Cola merchandise; welcome to the Coca-Cola fan zone!
Inside the fan zone large-motion sensing screens and very impressive interactive screens built into the bar awaited the joyous Coke fans. These exciting interactive units, the handiwork of a global media company called Monster Media, reacted in real time to body movements and submerged every visitor in the world of Coca-Cola. These units literally came to life whenever someone walked, moved and in many cases danced for joy as happiness came out from the screen reacting on motion sensing... Motion sensing; what an incredible effect! Wave your hands, arms, move your body, dance, whatever, Coca-Cola and happiness danced with you! Touching the screen literally took Coca-Cola fans inside a bottle of Coke as fans could explore the world of Coca-Cola by touching floating Coke bubbles to view Coke TV ads, learn more about the history of Coca-Cola, the origin of the famous Coke bottle, download ringtones and wallpapers, etc. - a full, engaging effect floating up on a dual motion- and touch-sensitive screen - or enjoy the motion-sensing bar that gave the impression that the whole bar is filled with Coke. Move and the Coke moves with you and literally came to life!
The interactive goalpost, also by Monster Media, gave fans the opportunity to experience the thrill of scoring a goal and hearing the cheer of the fans as the goalpost reacted when it felt yet another soccer ball in its tummy to the amazement of everyone taking a shot at goal.
Go Coca-Cola for showcasing this special technology to everyone and everyone in South Africa, young and old - a huge success! According to Jacques Roos, MD Monster Media South Africa, these motion-sensing units are available for outdoor advertising campaigns in many locations all over South Africa and can be set up in any location desired for special campaigns, events, and product launches.
South Africa did it and we all are proud to say we were part of such a global event. Wave your flag, a key theme of this World Cup and that was just what each and everyone visiting the Coca-Cola fan zone did. They came to experience Coca-Cola and they loved every moment of it!
