Revamped conference site embraces social media
The award-winning SAConference Directory, incorporating Direct Access, has launched its new website at Meetings Africa 2008. The website has been designed with the industry in mind, and has all of the facilities and networking tools that the phenomenally successful Facebook has, with added extras.
Comments 3S Media publisher Elizabeth Shorten, "3S Media has embraced the online publishing phenomenon. I believe that the new SAConference website will be a valuable and much-needed business networking tool for the MICE [meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions/events] industry."
Gone are the days where you were lucky if you contacted and interacted with your target market more than once every month. The business tourism industry is growing in leaps and bounds as evidenced by recently released South African Tourism stats which show that, on average, business travellers spend three times more than leisure travellers, and 40% of them return to a destination within five years. Eighteen percent of business travellers go on tours prior to their business activities, and 22% do the same afterwards.
Networking capabilities
Now, with the social networking capabilities of www.saconference.co.za, users can make friends in the business tourism industry, read blogs from industry leaders and write their own reviews.
Users can also search the extensive database of venues, speakers, entertainers, teambuilders and service providers, ask advice from one of the many industry experts, or pose a question to the editorial team. As the site is user-centric, users can also populate it with the content that they feel is important to them and their business.
www.saconference.co.za, has served the meetings, conference, events and exhibitions industry for well over a decade. This second major revamp was executed by Sandton-based Sightings Design.
