Suiting up for summer

USA - Tropi-Ties Swimwear recently unveiled its swimwear collection for Spring/Summer 2008, at the Miami Swim Show. The look and feel for this year's collection is funky and off-beat with a touch of street savvy. There's lots of custom, vintage prints, some 60s hippie chic stuff, a couple of swash buckling, pirate influenced designs, as well as an earthly, environmentally sound group of hemp fabric bikinis.

"We took our a fun approach to our styles this year and we went straight to the street kids for advise and direction. The look is slightly off-beat, with an edgy twist. There's a hemp and fringe bikini, a pirate ship print, some Victorian, velvet, rocker designs ... lots of attitude this year," commented Cindy Alpers, owner and designer of Tropi-Ties Swimwear.

Among the more traditional, bikini styles, Tropi-Ties has also came out with a low cut, demi-underwire bikini top that is super sexy. It puts a lot of cleavage and shape on a girl that the other swimsuit tops just can't do.

"This top is killer on a smaller busted girl. It gives lots of ooomph! It has received lots of attention from the press. Sports Illustrated picked this one up at the Miami Swim Show, along with a couple of other suits, including the 'environmentally sound' hemp bikini. We really hope that some of these suits make their final cut for the 2008 Swimsuit Issue. You never know until right before the edition comes out in mid-February. Our fingers are crossed," Alpers said.
