Mobilise your councillors
Lionel Bisschoff, CEO of Kaizania, builders of the service, says, "With the system, citizens can log on a map, a dangerous pothole, streetlights not working, traffic offences that repeatedly occur on regular routes and even illegal dumping as well as water and sanitation problems."
The map indicates other reports, which can be used as a warning to commuters on things like crime, potholes, streetlights not working and particularly mad drivers before entering an area. The service will then follow up the issues logged, with municipalities and government on behalf of the public.
Neighbourhood suggestions
"We also encourage citizens to help and play their part in bettering the community by getting them to propose ideas, such as traffic lights, circles, speed bumps or left turn signals that are needed. The service provides users with all the tools needed to communicate and collaborate with their community to gain support for proposals.
"The company knows who to contact and we will contact them often. We will also provide citizens who have reported issues or proposals with pro-active, convenient feedback, ensuring that the changes we want to see happen fast," concludes Bisschoff.
The service, located at www.mobilitate.co.za, is provided free of charge to all South Africans.
