Ncube crosses the Jordan

NEWSWATCH: Former KwaZulu-Natal government spin doctor and former journalist Bheki Ncube irked Pallo Jordan by suggesting the latter had been sent to a debate in Durban over the Protection of Information Bill in order to pacify the intellectuals; during the debate Jordan said that the proposed bill has a purpose, reports IOL.
    For more:

  • IOL: Jordan seeks honest debate on media bill... Well, of course it has a purpose - but many critics believe it is not to protect the country's legitimate secrets but rather to cover up on-going greed, wasteful spending, corruption, poor service delivery and incompetence. As Jordan says, there's no need to get hysterical about the bill, but there is a need for frank and open disclosure of the actual reasons for the proposed bill and the way it has been framed. Meanwhile, Ncube says 'The bill is not going to improve service delivery' and he doesn't know why the ANC is pushing for it. May we suggest, see above... reference to corruption, incompetence etc, for a possible clue?
