Glacier by Sanlam announced today that all visitors to the Retirement Expo in October this year will have access to a high intensity 45 minute workshop, designed to explore the fundamentals involved in retirement planning. Owned and managed by the Thebe Exhibitions and Projects Group (TEPG), South Africa's first-ever Retirement Expo will offer a variety of products and services needed to plan for retirement and all that a "mature lifestyle" encompasses. The exhibition will be held at the Coca-Cola dome in Johannesburg from 21 to 23 October 2011.
Jean Lombard, Head of Business Integration at Glacier by Sanlam says: "Research indicates that about 57% of retired people experience a drop in their standard of living when they retire. We therefore believe platforms like the Retirement Expo are ideal to encourage South Africans to avoid becoming part of this statistic. The reality is that retirement planning begins with a proper estate plan but unfortunately most components of the estate plan are structured in isolation with little or no thought given to how each impact on the others. Our workshop will illustrate why comprehensive estate planning is essential when planning for retirement."
The workshop, titled "Navigating your way to Retirement", will focus on how important it is to have a holistic view of all the components of your estate plan and will provide visitors with comprehensive implementation steps for the planning of the next phase of their lives.
Companies invited to exhibit at the Retirement Expo include financial, investment and estate planning specialists, retirement villages and lifestyle resorts, local and international travel planners, tax advisors, government information services, property investors, legal and insurance advisors, health and nutrition experts and mature living products and services.
"The involvement of big brands such as Glacier by Sanlam not only adds impetus to the Retirement Expo but also increases the shopping experience for visitors to find and compare the products and services available to them. Trusted and well-established brands such as Sanlam are a wonderful addition to the show," says Carol Weaving, Managing Director of TEPG.
