Tito Mboweni becomes Honorary Professor at Wits

As one of the leading institutions located in the heart of the financial markets in South Africa and on the continent, Wits has an important contribution to make through its academic endeavours in these relevant areas," says Mboweni.

Probably best known as the former Governor of the Reserve Bank (1999-2009) and the Minister of Labour (1994-1998), he currently serves as an advisor to Goldman Sachs International. He is the Non-Executive Chairman of the Boards of Nampak, SacOil Holdings, Accelerate Property Fund and the African Center for Economic Transformation. He is a Non-Executive Director of Discovery and a Non-Executive Director of PPC. Mboweni is also a member of the Advisory Board of Total Oil Marketing's Strategic Consultative Committee for Africa and the Middle East and a member of the ANC's National Executive Committee. He has held several other noteworthy positions in the ANC and the private and public sectors.
