New online magazine targets digital consumers
According to the statistics, South Africa's online publishers attract a highly educated and big-earning audience, with the largest group of Internet users (about 24.7 percent) holding postgraduate degrees and about 19.4 percent of users holding bachelor's degrees. About 20 percent of users, by far the largest group in the household-income category, are in the top-earning bracket (total combined annual household income of R400 000 a year or more).
It was with these statistics firmly in mind that eTravelmag, published by the Strega Group, has been launched to South African Internet users. It will also feature direct-booking facilities, with articles covering every popular and trendy destination and holiday spot.
Several advantages
Sure Travel, an advertiser in the magazine, had input in the development of the magazine and believes that it will offer travellers several advantages over traditional hand-held publications.
“eTravelmag is a dynamic publication, which means it will be able to continuously update information, specials and holiday packages. It also means that you won't have to spend hours searching on the Internet for specials as it encompasses a variety of travel specials from tour operators, airlines, car hire companies and hotels,” says Sure Travel CEO Vanya Lessing.
Editorials in the launch issue
There are several eye-capturing editorials in the launch issue, including a gaze into the Far East, with articles on Vietnam, The Pearl of the Orient, and a quick tourist guide to Hong Kong. Further, there are profiles on the unique spirit of Germany, as well as a piece on Private Air Charters.
The digital magazine will consist of several regular features, including breaking news, a Travellers' Tales page, and numerous competitions.
