Fabiani launches womenswear collection at #MBFWJ17
An unsuspecting audience were surprised at the launch of the Fabiani SS17 collection at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Johannesburg, as women stepped out onto the runway instead of men, marking the launch of Fabiani Womenswear.
From intricate beadwork and high voltage metallics, to jacquard fabrics and bold silk chiffons complemented by statement make-up, the innovative new range of women’s clothing was received with an animated response from the audience. The collection reflects Fabiani’s unmistakably couture flavour, together with a graphic, tailored and feminine aesthetic.
The pioneer behind the new collection for the iconic brand is acclaimed local designer, Warrick Gautier. Based in Cape Town, Gautier is renowned for his work both locally and internationally, and his collaborations with brands such as Chloe and Louis Vuitton. Inspired by art and his French heritage, Warrick Gautier brings his signature tailored couture of African luxury to the Fabiani Women’s collection.
“We were inspired by the need in the South African market for luxury African clothing tailored for powerful, successful, progressive and sophisticated women. We couldn’t be more thrilled to be collaborating with local design talent such Warrick, as a uniquely African aesthetic is central to this collection,” says Lyle Paul, Marketing Manager of Fabiani.
In celebration of women’s month, the launch of Fabiani Womenswear marks the beginning of an exciting new era for the brand, established as an exclusively menswear label for nearly forty years. Fabiani Women launches in flagship stores from 19 October 2017.
