A Nationwide spokesperson commented, "The international travel needs of our top-end customers in the South African corporate market, as well as the growth of interest in the Southern African region as world-class tourist destination, means that Nationwide will cater progressively for the international taste. We decided it was time for an own in-flight magazine that could speak directly to the tastes of our discerning customers.

"At the same time we wish to thank Good Taste magazine for supplying us with an exceptional magazine over the last two years."

Nationwide recently increased its frequencies on its Johannesburg/London route, and will be adding more international routes later this year.

Speaking from the US, a spokesperson for TCB said that they are delighted with the prospects of Altitude. "Finally, here's the chance to offer mobile South Africans a real flavour of the world's great destinations and experiences. And for our advertisers, the Nationwide business model is absolutely awesome. With this magazine, the ad spend of the premium brands does not go wasted in the back-three-quarters of the plane. The complete Nationwide passenger-list fits the premium brand profile, and is captive at 35 000 feet for several hours."

TCB Publishing publishes six in-flight magazines and one car rental in-fleet magazine.
