SA researcher to lead multi-national neurological debate

Dr Shevel has been asked by the International Congress for Controversies in Neurology to propose the exact wording for the topic of debate, and to be the concluding speaker. His talk will focus on exposing instances of widespread scientific fraud in the arena of migraine science where billions of dollars are at stake for a wide variety of industries, including pharmaceutical companies, hospital groups, medical insurers, and doctors.

"As a surgeon I have no formal neurological training, everything is self-taught. For a non-neurologist to be invited to an international neurology congress to both propose the topic and conclude the debate among the best neurologists in the world is a great honour both for me and for South Africa. We are at the forefront of medical science.”

Dr John Rothrock from the USA, editor in chief of HEADACHE, the migraine medical journal, is one of a group of specialists flying to Prague to hear Dr Shevel speak. Rothrock is one of the most ardent and powerful supporters of Dr Shevel's work.
