Confidently curvaceous and fabulously flawless
By using some of the most beautiful voluptuous models and top industry professionals, sophisticated imagery reminiscent of fashion editorials was created. The calendar also pays homage to icons that have inspired women over the years. [It] was created to recognise the overlooked and highly attractive appeal of curvaceous women in the mainstream fashion and modelling world. The style of the calendar is in scope with popular high fashion magazines, but very much has its own unique flavour, giving it an even greater edge.
"Our main objective in producing this calendar was to showcase the beauty of real women and to project an image to the mainstream market that curvaceous women are just as beautiful, attractive and capable in the mainstream fashion and modelling world over a size 2, or even over a size 16," said executive producer of the calendar, Chenese Lewis - a plus size model and the first Miss Plus America. "By advancing with this agenda, we are doing something that has never been done before, which makes this entire project and the impact it will have truly ground breaking."
Jamil Kali, creative director was the visionary behind the calendar and lent her strategic support to the entire project. Kali, who is also a plus size model, said, "We think this calendar is a great way to showcase confident and sexy curvaceous women. Throughout the entire process, we wanted the photos to be inspiring yet also sexy and tasteful, and I think the end result is a testament to the inherent beauty of women with curves."
Flawless Calendar models have been seen in ads for Ashley Stewart, Torrid, Baby Phat, Fruit of the Loom, I.N.C, Walmart, Avon, Tommy Hilfiger, Macys, Hips and Curves, and SizeAppeal. These beauties have also graced the pages of magazines such as Figure, Vogue, Latina, Essence, Marie Claire, Allure, and CosmoGirl.
