Adventure reality TV series postponed
L to R: Barry Armitage, Justin Bonello (executive producer and filmmaker) and Joe Dawson.
The eight-part reality TV documentary, 'The Ride', replicating the 950 km journey Sir Harry Smith successfully travelled on horseback 176 years ago to take command of the British garrison in Grahamstown at the onset of the sixth frontier war, has been postponed due to the injury of Barry Armitage after a fall from his horse. He and co-rider Joe Dawson will begin the ride again at the end of June 2011. To support the series' charity (the Cart Horse Protection Association) or to follow his recovery visit www.theride.co.za. The series is produced by Cooked in Africa Films.
