The paper simultaneously unveiled its new look and positioning titled ‘In the know and on the move'.
Stepping onto the platforms, the Starcom team were met by an impressive high speed Bombardier Gautrain coach and allowed to steal a glance inside the coaches and driver compartments. The Gautrain coaches will each seat 321 passengers and boast a nippy 12 minutes travel time from Sandton to OR Tambo International Airport.
Starcom media strategist Jason van der Berg comments “We were bowled over by the extent of development at the station and the international feel of the coaches. It certainly made us proud to be South Africans and we are exited to soon embrace the benefits of having access to the Gautrain.”
Of the 10 stations, Midrand is located north-east of provincial road K101 near Halfway House and to the north of Grand Central Airport. The Gautrain network will transport up to 3 200 passengers at peak time.
