East Africa to host online tourism seminars
"Travel is now the number one selling commodity online and is generating over US$150 billion annually in sales. However, only a small proportion of African tourism is sold online and finding and booking African destinations on the web can be a challenge. It is hoped that with more education and awareness, the tourism sector in the region will harness and implement online marketing tools," said Damian Cook, CEO of E Tourism Frontiers.
The E Tourism East Africa Road Show will include sessions on website development, e-commerce, online reservations and bookings, e-marketing, multimedia, user-generated content, social networks, and mobile marketing. The seminars will explain the benefits of online payments and e-commerce, and also introduce business solutions for tourism companies that may be struggling with reservation and booking systems.
