The event has a unique concept - a transnational film festival simultaneously taking place in eight playground cities on five continents worldwide.
The international competition includes five award categories with cash prizes of US$100,000. Shnit 2014 takes place 8-12 October in Cape Town, Bern, Cairo, San Jose, Buenos Aires, Kyoto and Bangkok, with Shnit Cinema online 13-17 October.
On October 19, international winners will be awarded at the Shnit Finale in New York. All South African films entered into the international competition are automatically considered for local South African competition categories.
