The secret of all great success and achievement

Self-confidence. Without it, you can't achieve anything. With it, you can achieve everything. To overcome any obstacle, or to achieve any goal and to become successful - you have to believe in yourself.

The belief you have in yourself allows you to take action. And the belief you have in someone else prompts them into action as well. It's important that we help others believe in themselves. By helping others believe in themselves they can achieve their goals and it helps us to achieve our own.

If you don't believe in yourself then who else will?

The biggest difference between successful and unsuccessful people isn't intelligence, opportunity or resources. It's the belief they have in themselves.
Everything we have in life comes because of our belief that they are possible. If we believe we can, we are less likely to hesitate to do something and more likely to succeed in doing it.

If we believe we can't, we are more likely to lose confidence or enthusiasm, and then delay or postpone the action and end up not doing it at all.

"Whether you think you can, or you think you can't - you are right." - Henry Ford

Where does self-confidence come from?

If you could bottle self-confidence and sell it, you'd make millions. Because everybody wants it and most people need it. Sadly, you can't buy confidence from a store. So, where does it come from?

True self-confidence is achieved by knowing yourself - your strengths, weaknesses, abilities and being comfortable with who you are. Self-confidence is something that manifests in your mind. It comes from how you view yourself in relation to the world around you.

A feeling of confidence is nothing but a sense of certainty that you can do something, a belief that you will succeed and an absolute trust in yourself and your abilities.

Confidence allows you to take action

Fear has always been the great enemy of success. We're held back by fears more than else. It's an emotion that overrides our intelligence, stops us from moving towards our goals and overall worsens our quality of life.

We don't always recognise the impact of fear, simply because we use different words to describe it - worry, nervousness, stress, shyness and anxiety. The major fear, the one that stands between us and success, is fear of failure. The problem is not actually failure, which can make us stronger and more determined, but the fear itself that stops us from action. Self-confidence helps overcome fear. When you can overcome fear, you can take action.

Nothing is more powerful than confidence

People who are confident radiate strength, passion and conviction. They're sure of themselves, what they're doing and where they're going. A confident person has self-awareness. They know their strengths and weaknesses, and they are realistic about their capabilities. More importantly, they know how to deal with failure.

They realise that failures are actually feedback and an opportunity to learn and grow. Self-confidence plays a major role in our lives, impacting not just business success, but also success in your personal life.

Someone who stands tall and proud, carries themselves confidently and displays self-respect and is able to speak their mind will most certainly be successful.
