Transnet faces massive fines

Transnet is facing fines that could run to several million Rands because of the unlawful development of a R1,7 billion upgrade to the container terminal at Durban Harbour. The company failed to get environmental permission for the project from the government.

Last week Transnet published a legal notice calling for public comment on a project that it has already completed.
