The airline operated its inaugural Cape Town-Mauritius flight on 2 October, marking its first route to Mauritius with the new Embraer E195-E2 aircraft.

The service connects two established tourism and business markets, with Mauritius attracting more than 1.4 million visitors in 2025 and South Africa among its largest source markets.

New link targets two markets

The schedule is designed to give leisure travellers more time at their destination while allowing business travellers to build work itineraries without middle-of-the-night or pre-dawn departures and arrivals.

“Our new flagship aircraft, the E195-E2, makes it possible for Airlink to conveniently connect Cape Town with Mauritius. The route is an important addition to Airlink's network and strengthens the connection between these two important tourism and business markets," said de Villiers Engelbrecht, Airlink CEO.

The new route also strengthens commercial links between South Africa and Mauritius. More than 140 South African businesses operate in Mauritius across agriculture, manufacturing, consumer goods and ICT, while the island's financial services and business process outsourcing sectors support wider commercial ties.

Mauritius' tax and offshore business incentives have also contributed to its position as a destination for investment and trade.

The Cape Town-Mauritius service operates twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays using the 124-seat E195-E2.

Flights depart Cape Town at 10.05am and arrive in Mauritius at 5.15pm. The return service departs Mauritius at 6.15pm and arrives in Cape Town at 10.35pm.
