Taj Cape Town's HR department shines

The global Taj family has been abuzz with excitement over the last few weeks as the 2014 winners of the Taj Awards for Business Excellence were revealed across five continents, 12 countries and 58 locations. As many as 125 hotels and 25,050 associates came together for 135 minutes of high voltage excitement, with more than 1,000 people cheering the event live at the Jamshed Bhabha Theatre in Mumbai.

Taj Cape Town is delighted to announce that their Human Resources Department were selected as the winner of the Best Human Resources Team in the luxury international division of the awards. This category represents teams in support functions which have demonstrated superior levels of performance with respect to guest satisfaction, service standards, and the team's involvement in improvement initiatives.

"As the overall winner of the HR category in the luxury international division, we are extremely proud of their achievement," remarks Michael Pownall, GM of Taj Cape Town. "This is the second time Taj Cape Town has celebrated a win at the TABE awards, with our Housekeeping Department being selected as the global winners of the Housekeeping Section in 2013."

The Taj Awards for Business Excellence (TABE) seeks to acknowledge the performance, teamwork, perfection, dedication and impeccable service in delighting guests for which Taj Hotels, Resorts & Palaces have renowned the world over.
