SAARF research out end March

The South African Advertising Research Foundation (SAARF) has announced the release of three of its research reports, due out at the end of March 2011. These are the Segmentation CD, Trends 2006-2010 booklet and the AMPS Jan-Dec 2010 CD.

Segmentation CD

Based on AMPS Fieldwork Period July 09 - Jun 10, the Segmentation CD contains

  • SAARF Living Standards Measure (LSM)
  • SAARF Living Standards Measure (LSM Extended)
  • SAARF Lifestages
  • SAARF Lifestyles
  • SAARF Attitudes

Trends

The latest edition of the Trends covers the period 2006-2010 and gives trend information out of AMPS. This pocket size booklet has been designed to be compact and lightweight.

In addition to a general introductory section, the booklet covers the following:

  1. Population statistics
  2. Print
  3. Radio
  4. TV
  5. Cinema
  6. Internet
  7. Outdoor
  8. Activities/Services/Shopping/Lifestages
  9. The Home
  10. FMCG Product Categories
  11. SAARF Living Standards Measure

The section on the SAARF LSM is a writeup on the history, current status and information on the size and main demographics of each group, as well as their media exposure.

In addition to all the media information, there is useful information on all the products and activities measured in AMPS over the past five years. It gives an indication of the years in which each of them was measured and where there was a methodological change.

AMPS Jan-Dec 2010

The Jan-Dec 2010 results will be released on Thursday 31 March 2011 and will include:

  • Jan-Dec 2010 Technical Report
  • Media by demographics and services (for total adults)
  • Media by LSM 1-4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 (for total adults)
  • Products by media
  • Branded data CD by demographics - (Based on 12 months' data)

The AMPS CD will be available within seven days of the release date and the Branded CD available mid-May 2011.

SAARF has decided that in the interest of making the data more widely available to all stakeholders, the contents of the CDs will also be available free of charge on the SAARF website at the end of May 2011.
