Ipsos expands its African call centre presence

According to Ipsos Markinor, the completion of its phase two expansion of its global call centre operation in Randburg, Johannesburg, will make it the largest research-based call centre in Africa in 2011. The new phase of the project involved investments in infrastructure, technology and communications, as well as a significant focus on quality.

Ipsos global operations CEO, Stewart Jones, who was in South Africa for the launch said, "The group is delighted with the progress made and intends to increase the volumes through its South African call centre in 2011 by as much as 300%."

The regional COO for operations, Rowland Lloyd, who was also in South Africa for the launch, noted, "The focus for our South African call centre operation has been on seamless integration with our participating English-speaking operations. Our metrics have shown South Africa to be on a par - if not better - than our call centre operations in other markets."

"We have seen tremendous strides made by our South African team in 2010 particularly in the realm of a heightened quality drive. I can confidently say we are making great progress against our objective of building a world-class operation in South Africa," concluded Jones.
