Winning products are:

  • Axe deodorant, which holds 8% of the total deodorant market in South Africa, as at December 2009. Ann Gottlieb, fragrance expert, created the Axe Dark Temptation fragrance by blending masculinity with chocolate gourmand notes
  • Shield deodorant - its two new fragrances were also entrusted to Gottlieb, who produced ‘Happy' with delicate notes of jasmine, rose and amber, and ‘Sexy' with notes of magnolia, musk and vanilla
  • Vaseline for Men, which received a ‘facelift' in 2009, adding two new lotion variants and an extra cream. Its new formulations, fragrances and new dark navy packaging have reputedly made this the biggest range of male lotions and creams in the South African market
  • Pond's Flawless Radiance, following its reinvention in 2009, it presented a whole new look and feel, with even better technology researched and developed in the Pond's Institute
  • Handy Andy won for its new additions to the 500 ml range, Lemon and Lavender, to consider the impact of the economic downturn on consumers
  • Domestos, with its 2009 launch of Domestos Red Power - 24-Hour protection
  • Sunlight Sparkling Grapefruit won in the category for Dishwashing liquid after just one year on the market.

For the next 12 months, the company can use the Product of the Year logo on its respective brand packaging, promotions and advertising.
