The new Scintilla vintage - the signature Méthode Cap Classique from The House of J.C. Le Roux - which recently won a Gold Medal at the 2015 Veritas Awards, has just been released.

Boasting an award-winning lineage of outstanding prestige cuvées, the new 2009 Scintilla is the latest vintage crafted by J.C. Le Roux's Cellarmaster, Elunda Basson.

Scintilla 2009 is a classic blend of Chardonnay (70%) and Pinot Noir (30%). It is crafted in the time-honoured French tradition of secondary fermentation, an intricate process by which scintillating bubbles are created in every bottle. This ultra-sophisticated flagship owes its complexity and character to the six years (72 months) it was kept on the lees, the spent yeast cells that remain after secondary fermentation has been completed.

Zesty and fresh

"Lively fine bubbles give our Scintilla 2009 a zesty and fresh palate. This signature J.C. Le Roux Cap Classique is made from only the very best grapes of the vintage. It has a brilliant light-yellow tint, fresh lime notes on the nose and integrated baked bread flavours with an elegant youthful finish that will benefit from additional bottle maturation," said Basson.

J.C. Le Roux Scintilla 2009 is available at selected wine shops and restaurants and sells for R190 at The House of J.C. Le Roux in Stellenbosch.
