South African Ann Nurock leaves Grey Canada
Nurock told Bizcommunity.com, when asked if she were coming back to South Africa: "Until I have taken a break, I am not making any decisions on anything. But am I ever coming back? Hell, yes! South Africa is my home."
Jim Heekin, chairman andCEO of Grey, stated in a memo to Grey Canada leadership that it is understandable that, after 20 successful years at one agency on two continents, Nurock would want to do something else. He paid tribute to her, saying that she put Grey South Africa on the map creatively, financially, in new business and world class talent, and it became one of Grey and WPP's most creatively awarded agencies, a real powerhouse.
More creative, collaborative culture
Since coming to Grey Canada, he continued, she has made the agency a more creative, collaborative culture dedicated to famous, effective brand-building ideas in every channel. It has ranked near the top of the group's Creative Council's rankings and won important recognition at Cannes and other shows; competed for, and won, good new business and attracted world-class talent.
Her replacement, Nerlich, brings 20 years of multi-channel communications experience and demonstrated leadership achievements at Lowe Roche and BBDO Canada. She is described as having won the trust and confidence of many Fortune 500 clients with her strategic counsel, as a champion of superior creativity and as being passionate about team-building and partnership.
