My fundamental keys as an Editor involves an understanding of what each piece of my puzzle is building up to and being able to see the bigger or overall picture.

I believe that an Editor needs to be a master manipulator and that an Editor needs to understand his/her audience before he/she can persuade or influence the audience. And lastly, an Editor must be able to translate their understanding of various editing devices, genre conventions and techniques in order for them to generate a specific emotion to the viewer.

Woody Allen uses the fourth wall convention in the film, Annie Hall and his reason for using it was because he felt that many people in the audience shared the same feelings and experiences as the protagonist thus he wanted to "talk to them directly and confront them".

My passion for film and the field of editing continue to grow and I hope to further my knowledge and skills in other fields of production as i progress in this industry.
