Show profile Hide profileI've always despised these profile sections because most people just list key words, that they think, people want to see, i.e. Hard working, disciplined, team player and so on....
Instead, I'm going to tell you a story about persistence and perseverance...
My story begins in Johannesburg, I grew up there with a loving family and close group of people I called friends. When I left school I followed my dreams and became a DJ. It was a great for a while, I made quite a success of myself and I was living the high life. After a while I realised that I might not be able to follow my dreams forever, so I got an entry level job at an I.T. company and worked promotions in my spare time, this went on for a few years.
A few years ago I decided to move Cape Town, leave everything behind, my friends, my family... I just left. With no guarantee of work or a job, things were tough in the beginning. I worked where ever I could, doing whatever was necessary. I realised that Cape Town is where I wanted to be and I would do anything to achieve this goal, I've done some amazing jobs and I've worked at some incredible places but I've also done some jobs that I'm not proud of. I was willing to do anything to stay in Cape Town...
It has taken me three years to build a life myself in Cape Town, it hasn't been easy but I've learned from every experience that no matter what, if you do anything with a smile and you're willing to persevere through the rough times, that anything can be achieved.
It's not a reward if you didn't earn it.
I stay until the job is done, no matter what. Quitting is not an option and there is no such thing as "can't"...
