Show profile Hide profilePresently I work as a Research Assistant (intern) for Trialogue in Johannesburg. Through this position, I have gained valuable experience in media, research and writing. It has enabled me to interact with people from different walks of life and has enhanced my people skills. Also, I am responsible for providing content for the company blog (http://trialogue.posterous.com).
Previously, I was an Editorial Assistant at iWeek magazine. It is there that I gained more experience in writing and conducting interviews with seniors of big corporate companies and representatives from community-based organisations.
As much as I write serious articles in my profession, my blog (http://ulwazimgwadleka.blogspot.com) depicts a more opinionated side of me through which I give social commentary on personal and current issues.
My journalism qualification is the foundation for the knowledge I accumulated in media and communications. Through subjects like Media research, Broadcasting, Advertising, etc, I learnt the basics of being a competent professional in the media field. Also, I can use these programs: Photoshop, Quark, Final Cut Pro and Dreamweaver.
As part of my extra-curricular activities at University, I was involved in radio broadcasting for 6 months. I also worked with WSU's Student News Agency (SNA) where I submitted stories that were distributed and published in Eastern Cape community newspapers.
My aim is to further my knowledge, not only in the journalism field, but, in all the other aspects of media in general. I have a deep interest in working in the advertising media and communication industry. My particular interest lies in research, communication and writing. I believe with the right amount of passion and determination, anything is possible.
