Show profile Hide profileMy name is Shane Allon. I am a Multimedia Designer with a two-year diploma in Multimedia
Design and production. I obtained my qualification at City Varsity School of creative arts and media.
In 2012 I won a design TV competition called Young Designers, which was 15 weeks of design challenges against 15 other chosen designers. I was told that a big factor of my win was because my passion was always extended out to the audience, which is what I aim to do in every task at hand.
At the beginning of 2015, I started working for Footwear Trading for brands such as Levis Footwear, Jeep Footwear, Diesel Footwear and Apparel, Skechers, and Fila Footwear.
I started as a Junior Graphic Designer, learning the marketing department, and eventually working my way up to a Graphic Designer.
My everyday tasks included creating multimedia for all 5 brands - Social print advertising, in-store advertising, promotional marketing, events marketing and more. Other tasks included creating all internal and marketing catalogs as and when needed including the company quarterly newsletter.
I was then approached by Stuttafords for a position as the head graphic designer.
Here, I was responsible for creating visuals for current and future in-store promos for print, digital and social media. I was responsible for regular email newsletter designs. In charge of all print design as well as all digital design.
Unfortunately, shortly after, Stuttafords filed for business rescue, and I was retrenched.
I then went on to work for a DMM.
At DMM my position was Creative Web Developer. Here I had the fortunate opportunity of building websites for companies such as Mercedes-Benz Commercial, Co-op Computing, a.b.e Construction Chemicals. 2 months into being at this Job I was given the responsibility of managing the company's website backend. At the time, web development was something that I was good at but did not particularly enjoy
With a solid set of skills and experience, I decided to start freelancing.
I started by developing a website for Johannesburg Skydiving Club www.jsc.co.za
On November 2017, I was approached by Skye Distribution, a fashion distribution, wholesale and retail corporation to take on the role as a contracting graphic designer across all brands. I have had the opportunity to work on multiple projects for brands such as Converse, Nike, Jordan, Hurley, Dickies, Brentwood, Samson, Polo, and Rookie-SA. I have built a massive portfolio with a multitude of multimedia design applications, from basic logo creation to out of home billboards, in-mall banners, store openings, activations, and events.
I am highly trained in the Adobe Creative Cloud, including all creative programs.
I have a good knowledge of 3D Rendering Design (C4D & Blender)
