Getting to know Maureen Grobler. Maureen is a fascinating woman. When I was honoured with the challenge of writing a biography for her, my first thought was: “How on earth do you describe the scent of vanilla; the taste of honey, or the colour of a sunset?” After many hours assessing this challenge, I became aware of this singular realization: “…there is no reason to describe the scent of vanilla, or the taste of honey, or even the colour of sunset. It’s bundled with nature, all around us, opportunity abound and creation perfected.” And with Maureen, a matching experience prevails - Talking to her you will know exactly what I mean. Listening to her and you’ll understand. See her, and you will become a believer. Maureen creates. Through her eyes, the entire world is her canvas; opening itself to her, allowing her imagination to run free, and her creative genius abound. With the smallest of flower she creates a dazzling focal point. She finds exceptional beauty in the most ordinary of spaces, and in the process reveals an inner-princess. Through her eyes, the humblest scene becomes a masterpiece of composition. From nothing, she makes something. Something that surprises, impresses; that takes your breath away.
