I am busy switching my career path from conventional TV broadcasting into new media audio visual industry, media and communication consulting, as I believe it is the future of audiovisual communication and media. I am a multi-skilled, motivated, creative, innovative, experienced media and communications professional and lecturer. As a journalist, TV producer and photojournalist, I have worked in several mediums both in South African and abroad. I covered a wide variety of topics during my career so far. These experiences sharpened my production, directing, research, communication and journalistic skills. I was also employed in the TV, video and multimedia industries in a variety other of capacities. I worked on current affairs, agricultural, corporate, children's infotainment and educational productions. I have a BA (Business Communications) and a MA (Business Communications) degree. I am intelligent, get along well with people and I adapt very easily. Although I currently don't have many technical new media skills, I am confident that with some training and practice I will catch up soon, as I did well during the exposure I had to the basics of web design and computer programming in high school and university. Because my current position doesn't allow me to physically operate camera and editing equipment, my filming and editing is a bit rusty. However I learnt the basics of editing and filming video with a Betacam and a reel-to-reel system. I later graduated to operating a DV cam, Sony PD 150 and Sony PD 170 cameras and dedicated digital sound and video editing systems. I used Dalet extensively during my career in radio. I can also help myself on Avid and Final Cut Pro. And because of my natural knack for absorbing, processing, connecting, understanding and communicating masses of information in an easy to understand way, relatively fast, I would also be a valuable team member within a strategic planning and consultancy environment.
