As the head of marketing the role is both strategic and operational in nature. The focus is on aligning the marketing strategy with the business strategy to achieve the specific objectives of the organisation.
The key areas of responsibility include: developing the marketing strategy, budget allocation, defining the marketing implementation plan, PR and Comms, Brand Management, Advertising, Events and strategic support provided to Exco and investor relations.
Having an integrated approach to marketing ensures that during the early stages of a campaign/ initiative, the objectives, messaging and target market are defined. After which the marketing channels are determined (e.g. PR, advertising, digital platforms and social media) as well as the method of measuring the success of the campaign. Upon completion, the results are reviewed and bench marked for future initiatives.
