Experience
• I started my career as a press-photographer working in Johannesburg for Beeld, Vrye Weekblad and Rapport.
• During this period of time I gained much experience from renowned press-photographers such as Jan Hamman and Hoffie Hoffmeister.
• Highlights of my early career included photographing the release of Nelson Mandela, the inauguration of Pres FW de Klerk, the Amnesty International concert in Harare and the evolution of Apartheid South Africa into a democracy.
• I started out my journalistic career as a correspondent for Beeld from Pietermartizburg.
• In 2005 I started working for Paarl Post as a journalist.
• I also write an outdoor cooking column in the Buite Burger as well as lifestyle article for Boland Media lifestyle supplement Enjoy/Winederous.
• In 2012 I was promoted to editor of Paarl Post.

• Managing and delegating a team of journalists
• Staying at the top of news events and trends
• Subbing copy
• Page lay-out
• Uploading and updating Paarl Post website
• Managing social platforms of Paarl Post
• Social Media
• Administration, eg, correspondent payments
• Until recently I wrote a regular column for Die Burger on outdoor cooking
• For the past 14 months I have been writing a "BosKos" column for WegRy magazine
• I am fluent in both English and Afrikaans
Achievements
• As a press-photographer I received an Illford Award for a news photograph in 1990.
• I have received various Sanlam Community Press Awards for both my writing and photography.
• In 2010 I received a Legends Award from Media24 as best Lifestyle Journalist.
