I have more than 20 years' experience in print and electronic media and publishing, particularly in non-fiction and educational publishing.
Show profile Hide profileI hold an Honours degree in Journalism and a Masters degree in Literature and have more than 20 years experience in media, journalism and publishing. I have worked in both print and electronic media, mostly in the non-fiction and educational publishing fields, but have also done extensive freelance work in fiction and am a published poet. My current position is Channel Manager for Myfundi (www.myfundi.co.za), an aggregated web version of the South African Encyclopedia/Suid-Afrikaanse Ensiklopedie hosted by Naspers Labs.
My skills include content management, research, writing, editing, translation, copy editing and proofreading, as well as managing the publishing process from conceptualisation to print, positioning an internet product, managing a website and associated social media functions. I am fully bilingual (Afrikaans/English).
I see myself as self-driven, creative and dedicated, have good interpersonal skills and enjoy working as part of a team or on my own. I feel that my best contribution lies in applying my experience to meet new challenges and come up with creative solutions.
