As an advisor to a ward councillor within the Ekurhuleni Municipality, his skills in land use and spatial knowledge helped enhance the level of service delivery in the area. In his role as researcher for the NAFCOC Business Development Unit, he and his team were instrumental in getting the story of Deralene James into the public eye and further into the attention of the presidential office, which lead to an increased intervention against drug abuse within the Eldorado Park community.
