After completion of my basic training at the Police Collage in 1971, I am posted to Rivonia/Sandton police station, as a uniform branch member. My duties at Rivonia/Sandton consisted of Client Service Centre duties, the attending of complaints with a patrol vehicle in the Rivonia/Sandton policing area. The investigation of case dockets, police dockets, serving of warrants of arrests, summonses, foot beat and guard duties.
While at Rivonia/Sandton I also did duties as the Head/Branch Commander of the Inquiry and Investigation Branch, Personal Assistant to the Station Commander and on several occasions I was appointed Acting Station Commander in the absence of the Station Commander.
On 1985-08-19 I am transferred to District Head Quarters, Randburg. At Randburg my duties consisted mostly of admin duties.
On 1986-01-08 I am transferred to the Provincial Head Quarters, Johannesburg, as Head of records and the archive. My duties mostly consisted of supervision and admin duties.
On 1988-03-07 I am transferred to Sophiatown to take up duties as the Personal Assistant to the Station Commander, this duties I performed till 1997-01-31. On 1997-02-01, I am appointed Head of
the relief's (shifts) and during October 1997 I am appointed as Head of Human Resource Management.
On 1999-12-31 at Sandton I retired medically unfit from the SAPS, the reason being "Osteo Arthritis Lumber Spine L5 S1"
After my retirement, and being a client of Sanlam Life I handed in a claim to Sanlam Life regarding the unfit benefits as stipulated in my insurance policies. Sanlam responded to my claim as follows : "Ons (Sanlam) is van mening dat dit redelik is om van u te verwag om met die nodige sorg nog administratiewe werk te kan doen waar u sit en loop/staan kan afwissel, iets wat in 'n normale kantooropset algemeen voorkom", thus meaning that I am fit to perform admin duties.
I am devoted to my work for 29 yrs and 6 months I had Faithful Service and Exemplary Conduct in the SAPS.
On 2006-01-09 I took up work at Assupol Life Limited as a Sales Representative.
June 2007 I received a National Award for being the no 3 sales performer.
June 2008 I received a National Award for being the no 12 Sales performer.
During the 2008/2009 financial year I was the no 22 Sales performer nationally.
June 2010 I received a National Award for being the no 15 sales performer.
