QED Development Consulting (www.qed-developmentconsulting.co.za) exists to work in the divide between rich and poor in South Africa. In a country where the majority of the population continues to live in poverty and the minority live a life of extraordinary wealth and comfort, development agencies and companies continue to be needed which aim to close the gap between rich and poor and eradicate poverty from our society. QED is a small consulting practice led by an independent development consultant that aims to make its contribution in this regard in the development, corporate social investment and broad based black economic empowerment arenas.
Ms Jan Beeton has developed a career lasting some 28 years now in the community education, training and development sector in Southern Africa. She has worked out of all nine provinces and in other countries in the region as well. She has worked in both urban townships and rural areas. She has led her consulting practice for the last 10 years. She has developed expertise and accumulated experience primarily in the following fields: micro enterprise development, adult education, youth development and community development.
Through her consulting work, Jan seeks positive transformation in the socio-economic realities of the lives of the marginalised and poor in South Africa. She does this by engaging in the following key areas of work:
Evaluation studies and organisation learning
Strategy design and redesign
Project design and management services
She enhances her work in these 3 key areas by offering the following services well:
Organisation capacity building
Personal and life skills development
Mentoring
Currently, she works more in consortia and teams in these areas of work, but continues to work independently where assignments require it. She is keen to extend her work into other countries in Africa
