Show profile Hide profileI was born in Johannesburg in 1976 and grew up on a farm in Mpumalanga, South Africa. I obtained my degree in Dramatic Arts from the African college of Film, Television and Drama in 2000 and worked in the advertising and film industry as a screenwriter, actor and producer.
Disgruntled at the pace of transformation and justice in South Africa, I conceptualized and co-founded the Hillside Digital Trust, which aims to dramatically increase social change, service delivery and good governance in Africa's poorest communities through training its youth in video citizen journalism and community activism. I'm also on the board of an orphanage in Alexandra Township and South Africa's chapter of Dramatic Need.
I currently represent Africa's NGO sector on an international working group for the Global Reporting Institute, formulating policy and guidelines on sustainability reporting for the events sector (ie. Olympics, FIFA World Cup to exhibitions and local arts festivals).
