Charlie Fripp
Starting my professional writing career more than 12 years ago, I have crafted crime and automobile stories for community newspapers, shared the joy and excitement of entertainment news, translated the pixelated world for video games into everyday text, and attempted to make the latest technology understandable for everyone.
Show profile Hide profileThroughout most of my life, writing has been an incredibly passionate aspect of communicating with people. While a photo could be worth a thousand words, there is something magical about crafting a narrative that draws a reader into exploring more.
But sometimes the written word isn't enough, and something more visual or auditory is required. For those occasions, I had been invited to regularly appear in television inserts on technology for eNews Africa and Good Morning Africa, while also appearing as a guest on Ashraf Garda's SAfm segment Talking Tech. 2OceansVibe Radio and Gamecca Magazine's weekly podcast requested my input and knowledge on several occasions.
Then there are instances where only a picture can simply convey the message to the viewer. For that purpose, I served as the chief photographer for Get It magazine in Johannesburg North.
Having used a variety of Content Management Systems, I know my way around a CMS or two. Currently I manage a host of social media accounts at my current position, through the use of Facebook for Business, TweetDeck and Instagram.
In short, I'm extensively capable of planning, creating and executing anything that revolves around written text: in-depth features and interviews, news, reviews, website copy, press releases, social media posts, sub-editing, etc.
My general areas of interest include anything that revolves around telecommunications, technology, video games, pop culture, general entertainment (music & films), travel, and arts & culture.
