Show profile Hide profileFirstly, I would like to take this time to thank you for the opportunity of applying for your available position.
A little bit about myself and my background - I have a 3 years Advanced Diploma in Multimedia and
Production acquired from City Varsity in 2007. After graduation, I briefly worked at a Web design company where I soon realised that my passion has always been in the area of print design.
After my brief encounter with the online world, I received a position at Deepdesign. I worked at
Deepdesign for a period of 4 years. I learnt a great deal while working for this company. Mainly how to take a brief from a client, how to interpret the brief, get approval from the client and finalise the artwork for print. My skill set also grew, as I learnt the Adobe Suit in my studies and the company only had CorelDraw as their main program for design. I still use CorelDraw in my day-to-day design process.
When my daughter was born, I realised that being a working mom and looking after a new born was a bit of a challenge. With my love and passion for both my daughter and the world of design, I decided to start a freelance business from home. Working from home also taught me a whole different side of the business, as now you have to find your own clients, set up contracts, send out quotes, set up meetings for briefs, conceptualise and complete the projects with means of an approval sheet, finalise the artwork and send them to print should your clients wish to use the print quote you have provided. And on top of all you still have to be a super mom.
I have a wide range of designs which some where out of my comfort zone. But you do your research, and you tackle the situation head-on, and at the end of the day you can say, "I DID IT", and now I have learnt something new.
I believe that with the education and experience level I have described above, that I will be an asset to your company as we share the same passion for design and success in the long run.
I am eager to learn and I am willing to make a success out of everything I do.
I hope that you afford me the opportunity to meet with you and I thank you in advance for your time.
Kind Regards
Chantellé Venter
