I completed (ahead of schedule) my 3 year Diploma in Marketing Manager (IMM) in June 2003, after which I worked and travelled overseas for 4 years. While working in London my positions mainly consisted of Marketing and Sales.
When I returned to South Africa in 2007 I was contracted by a Cooperate Hospitality company in Durban as an Events Co-ordinator and one of the projects I worked on was the Celine Deon national tour. In 2008 I got married and relocated with my husband (internal transfer) to Johannesburg and I excepted a Activations Co-ordinator role at a below-the-line Marketing agency. My role consisted of managing campaigns from initial brief to completion and I worked on various brands to name a few: Jacobs, Vaseline, Camel, Cell C and Jungle Oats. In 2010 I was promoted to a more senior role and I was given the responsibility of managing a team. I left this position at the end of 2011 and I wanted an extended maternity period.
In May 2012 I started a new role as an Events Co-ordinator for a bespoke events company namely, Otto De Jager Events, and over the past two years I have gained excellent experience and knowledge in the Events industry and have worked with a number of high-end clients such as the Richmont Group and Standard Bank Private Clients to name a few.
