As part of my inservice training in 2012 i was privildged to work at Umhlathuze Municipality under the wing of Communications Officer Vukile Mathabela whereby we assisted with preparations of the metro fm invasion that was held in Richardsbay by the Municipality in partnership with Metro Fm in September that year.
In 2013 i worked for a company called Aegis for a British campaign whereby we assisted clients with any gas or electricity faults they had in their household via telephone. This experienced taught me to patience and tolerance as when dealing with people that live outside of South Africa the biggest issue we both encounter is our accent and behaviour. Unfortunately the campaign ended in January the following year and i was without work.
I therefore decided in Febrauary to go to hospitals and ask to volunteer and work hand in hand with the PRO, luckily enough my paln worked and on the 4th of February 2014 i started my volunteer work at King Edward Hospital and Nontobeko Ndlela taught me alot including :
•Writing articles for events that happen in and around the hospital which therefore was edited by PRO officer
•Conducted an interview with Dr Green who is one of the oldest gynaecologist in the hospital, about the importance of woman health.
•Wrote hospitals newsletter
•Involved in the preparations and organizing of the skin clinic that was being re launched after renovations.
