After all why do “normal”? “Normal” is for people without courage. I prefer the road less travelled, where bold moves, big ideas and strategic thinking define my reality. I take inferior service as a personal slight and pride myself on only delivering a standard of work that I believe ticks all the boxes that best define “exceptional”. As luck would have it, these are the qualities you need in the experiential marketing environment - which is where I find myself operating on a full time basis today.
My days, which start early and always with a strong coffee, are consumed with building experiences for brands in ways that establish strategic, relevant & meaningful connections with their customers. The growth of experiential marketing is robust and the inspiration for many a content marketing factory. Consumers record and distribute content digitally - across their own social networks - and rolling out campaigns that take this into account is one of the most powerful ways of optimising the brand's message and delivery. As a technophile in the activations industry, nothing excites me more than this.
Having spent just under seven years at SAB - I have earned the right to say I mastered the art and science of activations [and alcohol brands] during this time. A professional career highlight was definitely when I was the project lead on the SAB Carling Black Label Champion Cup - a role I assumed for two consecutive years. One of the world's biggest Through-The-Line marketing campaigns - this experience definitely shaped my career prospects and professional development.
Outside of expanding the Isilumko Activate business I have a love of music that has led me to express this passion through rock guitar. I launch my first solo album in July this year! Connect with me on LinkedIn for activations advice or a sound off; I am up for either!
